Wedding Story
Fireworks for Claire & Brian at Borgo di Tragliata
From their college in Tipperary to promises in the Massello Garden, a sky of fireworks and a party shared with their favourite people.

At Claire and Brian’s wedding, even finding your table meant going back to the beginning.
The tables were named after the accommodation blocks at the college in Tipperary where they had met. Familiar little place-names had travelled with them to Borgo di Tragliata, carrying a piece of their Irish life into the Roman countryside. At least this seating plan came with a useful introduction to the couple’s history.
On 20 March 2026, around 130 guests gathered there, arriving mainly from Ireland, with loved ones also travelling from Australia, England and Scotland. Claire and Brian had already experienced an Italian wedding as guests. When they first visited the Borgo themselves, its easy welcome, food, wine and relaxed atmosphere made the choice feel close to home, even so far from it.
Among the old stone buildings, there was room for the whole day to unfold. The photographs would hold both its quiet intimacy and its laughter: Claire with the women beside her during the preparations, white bouquets gathered together, then Claire and Brian stealing a kiss in the afternoon light.

A garden, a promise, and a little of Ireland
Linda Lynn had looked after Claire’s hair and makeup. From the closeness of the preparations, the day opened into the Massello Garden at Borgo di Tragliata, where the grass and surrounding greenery gave the symbolic ceremony a gentle, open setting. The floral design by Krafteemom Styling became part of that garden scene, framing the place where their promises would be made.
With ceremony music by The Gloves, Claire’s entrance unfolded to Lyra’s “I Only Want to Be with You”. All those journeys, all those people, and then the simple distance between two people about to marry. The anticipation gathered around them; for a few moments, the rest of the day could wait.
During the handfasting, “Tabhair Dom Do Lámh” accompanied the joining of their hands. A shared life, given a small, visible shape. Then came the kiss, with guests leaning into the moment and phones raised to keep a little of it. Riccardo Giommetti’s photographs preserve that view from among the people who had come to celebrate them. “Canter” by Gerry Cinnamon carried their exit into a lighter, freer part of the afternoon.

Time together on the Massello Terrace
On the Massello Terrace at Borgo di Tragliata, the aperitif gave everyone time to find one another again. After the ceremony’s concentrated emotion, conversation could stretch out into the open air, with The Gloves providing the music.
There was room for singing here too. A microphone shared with a guest, a musician close by, the sunshine caught in the photographs: already, the music belonged among the people. For Claire and Brian, who had brought so many loved ones from far away, this unhurried time together was part of what they had travelled for.

The names that brought them here
“Red Light” by Billy Ocean accompanied their entrance to dinner inside Massello. Around the tables, those college names brought the story back to Tipperary. The beginning of their life together had found its way into the middle of this celebration, beside the people who knew different chapters of it.
Four speeches were planned, with Claire’s father, the best man and Brian among the speakers. The room made space for those different voices: attentive listening, smiles of recognition, laughter easing into something more tender. In Riccardo’s photograph of Brian with the microphone, Claire sits just across from him, the celebration suddenly intimate again.
The work of Umberto Atterga Films gave the day another way to be remembered, keeping its moving images and voices alongside the still photographs. The pauses between words, as much as the words themselves, belonged to the story too.

A celebration that reached the sky
The cake cutting brought Claire and Brian together for another shared moment before the evening changed pace. Then the fireworks by Pyro Wedding opened the night above them.
In the photograph, Claire’s arm reaches up, Brian holds his glass, and the bursts of light fill the dark sky behind them. It is a wonderfully unguarded piece of their day: a celebration large enough to spill into the sky, with the two of them still at its heart.

“Dreams”, close together
For their first dance, Claire and Brian chose “Dreams” by The Cranberries. Ireland returned in the opening notes, familiar music carrying them into a moment that was entirely their own. After a day of welcoming, listening and being surrounded, there was the tenderness of simply dancing together.
Claire also shared a dance with her father to John Denver. Alongside the promise of a new married life, the day held space for the bonds that had brought her to it. Those quieter moments gave the party something deeply personal to grow from.

The Teatro lets loose
In the Teatro at Borgo di Tragliata, The Gloves’ full eight-piece band opened the evening out. Two lead voices, guitar, bass, drums and keys met trumpet and trombone, with the sound filling the room and the distance between band and dance floor quickly disappearing.
The photographs tell this chapter with very little restraint: arms around shoulders, heart-shaped sunglasses, a microphone among smiling faces. Claire sings beside guests and the band; the brass players lean into the fun as readily as the music. Those sunglasses were clearly taking their evening responsibilities very seriously.
The live show kept building through voices, brass and the pleasure of joining in. The party drew on Claire and Brian’s taste for pop, rock, soul and Irish artists, bringing different generations into the same lively room. The DJ carried the celebration on after the band. The Gloves also provided Sax ’n’ DJ inside Massello the following day.
Back in Tipperary, the names of those college blocks still belonged to the place where Claire and Brian had met. Now Borgo di Tragliata belonged to them too: the garden where they had made their promises, the room that held their families’ voices, the music they had shared with their favourite people. A new place in their story, and a whole day they could return to together.
